THE IDEAL HOME

"When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, 'Take these men to my home...make ready; for these men will dine with me at noon'" (Gen. 43:16 NKJV). These words would change the lives of every man in the story of Joseph and his brothers" "Take these men to my home...for these men will dine with me..." Instead of retribution Joseph offered charity. Charity begins at home and so it did for these men. Home is a place for breaking even, not getting even.
I like the following definitions of home - the ideal home.
* "Home is a place where the great are small and the small are great."
* "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in."
* "Home, a place that our feet may leave, but not our hearts."
* "Home: where each lives for the other and all live for God."
I like this last definition best of all. Evelyn and I will celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary on August 7. At our wedding, this song was sung: "Each for the other, and both for the Lord." By His grace we have lived that song for nearly 42 years. May God bless your home today!
Hymn: "We have a Wonderful Guest at our house, Who makes our home a heaven every day: And this Wonderful Guest at our house, has promised He'll never go away. He brought a lovely letter from His Father's house above, And every day we read it, and it tells us of His love. And when we go to sleep at night, He sees that everything goes right, This Wonderful Guest at our house, who makes our home a heaven every day." (Louis Paul Lehman)
