I HAVE A RESERVATION!

I have no reservations about heaven, but I have a reservation in heaven! I believe that heaven is real and, that because of Christ and my faith in Christ, I am going to go there some day. Why can I say this with such confidence? Because I believe the testimony of Scripture. "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you" (1 Pet. 1:4 KJV).

We all know how assuring it is when we are on vacation and have been on the road a good, long while, to know that we called ahead and made a reservation with a hotel or motel so that we would have a good night of rest. Just multiply that feeling several million times over when it comes to having a reservation in heaven! We have a home awaiting us in heaven. We have Jesus' word on it (see John 14:1-4). The NIV uses the phrase "kept in heaven for you." "Kept" is a military term meaning "to guard."  Your mansion in heaven is carefully guarded. No demonic powers can touch it. No fallen angels seeking re-entry can invade it. A thrifty Scotsman who was also a believer had but one word engraved on his headstone: "KEPT." It was enough. It is enough. We have a reservation in heaven!

Hymn: "I've a home prepared where the saints abide, just over in the glory land; and I long to be by my Savior's side, just over in the glory land." (James W. Acuff)
