THE GREATEST CONCERT ABOVE THE STARS!

"You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly" (Heb. 12:22b NIV).
What a rich and vivid picture this is! John expands on it in Rev. 5:11. "Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: 'Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!'" Their 7-fold praise of Christ is simply awesome. Eat your heart out Hollywood, even on Oscars night! You cannot top countless angels in joyful assembly! The numbing scene is repeated in Rev. 7:11 where we find the angels falling down on their faces before the throne and offering another 7-fold praise to Almighty God.
The angelic chorus in Heaven will make the greatest choirs on earth be eminently forgettable. We will see them and hear them in "joyful assembly." I cannot imagine what that will be like but I do not want to miss it. My father and mother once heard the great Simon Estes sing. (Dad actually taught Simon in Christian service camp when he was but a little boy). After the world-famous baritone sang, he invited my parents backstage for a private audience with him. But even this, as great as it was, will pale in comparison to "thousands of thousands of angels in joyful assembly." Make sure you have your ticket and reservation for the "greatest concert above the stars!"
Hymn: "Last night I lay a-sleeping there came a dream so fair, I stood in old Jerusalem beside the temple there. I heard the children singing, and ever as they sang methought the voices of angels from heaven in answer rang, methought the voice of angels from heaven in answer rang. Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna to your King!" (Frederick E. Weatherly).
