BE MINDFUL OF HEAVEN This entry was posted on 01-29-2009 and is filed under MIND OF CHRIST. DAY 18 - Don't let a day go by without taking time to think of Heaven. Suppose you knew that a vast inheritance was coming to you. It included a fabulous place to live - maybe a mountain home in Colorado or a home with a fantastic view of the ocean. Whatever the place, you would be thinking about it all the time. God has prepared a place for us that is beyond description. Do you ever think about Heaven? Do you think you should?
The writer of Hebrews mentions those who died in faith without receiving the promises. Then he says, "And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one" (Heb. 11:15, 16 NASB). Which country do you think about the most? Somewhere you used to live? The place where you now live? Or the place where all Christians are going - that "better country" - that "heavenly country"? The Bible says that our citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3:20). We need to use our mind and think about that far more than we do! Hymn: Let the world have its diamonds, it's silver and gold, I am richer by far with the title I hold; I am heir to a kingdom, a crown and a throne, that shall stand when earth's kingdoms are all overthrown.
