ESTABLISHED THINKING

DAY 15 - Nothing great happens by accident. We see that in today's text, Proverbs 16:3 NKJV. "Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established." Every deed was once a thought. When our thought pattern is established - by committing our ways to God - great things can happen in our lives. The key word in this passage is "commit." My favorite use of this word in Scripture is Luke 23:46 NIV, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." The Holman CSB uses the word "entrust." If I remember my Greek correctly, this word was used in banking. If you trusted the bank you would commit, or entrust, your money with them.

Our thoughts will be established when we entrust the Lord with everything we have. Proverbs 16:3 NIV says, "Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." But it takes thinking to create and carry out plans. Established thinking. God-established thinking. Thinking the thoughts of God. Trusting Him to guide your thoughts and assist you in carrying them out. Can you trust God enough today to let Him stabilize your thinking?

Hymn: Give of your best to the Master; give Him first place in your heart;
Give Him first place in your service, consecrate every part.
(H.B.G.)
