JUST ONE THING

Do you ever have so many irons in the fire you can't get any one thing done? That's the way it is with me sometimes. I wear too many hats and make too many promises to others. That's when I need to go back to the Word and read what Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13, 14 ESV, "But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
For Paul it was not "these 40 things I dabble in" but rather "this one thing I do." How is it with you? What matters most is not the things that we have already achieved but the things that are still waiting to be achieved. The great revivalist Marion McKee used to say, "Keep pressing on! Keep pressing on to that land of full blessing and salvation!" There is a goal to attain, there is a goal to win, there is an upward call to answer to. That call comes from God. Can you hear His call? Respond magnificently to that awesome call today!
Prayer: O heavenly Father, help me to be single-minded today and do my best for Your glory and honor!
