I'M RICH!

"Let Christ's teaching live in your hearts, making you rich in the true wisdom..." (Col. 3:16b The N.T. in Modern English).

According to this passage, I am rich - and so are you - if we are both letting the word of Christ dwell in us richly. The poorest peasant on the planet is the richest man or woman in the world - if he/she is allowing the word of God to "remain as a rich treasure" in their hearts (Weymouth). Bill Gates and Warren Buffet may be the richest men on earth in material gain, but that Christian peasant woman in Peru, or that believing humble housewife in Haiti, is richer by far in what really matters - "true wisdom."

The Psalmist said he was wiser than all his teachers. You can be too if you allow Christ's Word to find a home in your heart. You may never be a millionaire but you are an heir to the riches of God's wisdom, made known to us in and by the living Christ. The Living Bible says, "Remember what Christ taught and let His words enrich your lives and make you wise." Wisdom is understanding life from God's perspective, revealed to us in His Word through Christ. Paul Little said, "Has it ever struck you that the vast majority of the will of God for your life has already been revealed in the Bible? That is a crucial thing to grasp." Grasp it with all your might. You may just be richer than you thought!

Prayer: Loving Father, thank You for the richness of Your Word that dwells in our hearts by faith! Through Christ we pray.
