STAND YOUR GROUND

"Stand your ground, then..." (Eph. 6:14a TCNT).
This is the fourth time Paul has used the word "stand" in verses 13 and 14. I once co-authored a book (with William E. Paul) called Taking a Stand (College Press, 1996). It is important to have convictions and be willing to take a stand. Very few politicians do that today. What we need are statesmen who will take a stand on vital issues of the day. This is no less true in the church of our Lord.
"And I searched for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one." Those sad words are found in Ezekiel 22:30 NASB). But if you want to take your stand for God, He is able to make you stand (Rom. 14:4). The key is to "stand fast in the Lord" (1 Thess. 3:8). Are you ready to take your stand? God will help you. Position yourself in Christ.
Hymn: "Standing by a purpose true, heeding God's command, Honor them, the faithful few! All hail to Daniel's band! Dare to be a Daniel, dare to stand alone! Dare to have a purpose firm! Dare to make it known!" (Philip P. Bliss)
