TAUGHT BY CHRIST! This entry was posted on 05-20-2008 and is filed under uncategorized. "But you did not so learn Christ! Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as [all] Truth is in Jesus - embodied and personified in Him" (Eph. 4:20,21 Amplified).
What I learned about Christ I did not learn from the Christless world. I had godly parents and Christian teachers who taught me about Christ. I thank God for them. And so should you if you were raised in a godly home or went to a Christian school or college. But our text today says that in reality we have been taught by Christ Himself. How can this be? Christ dwells in the lives of those who accept Him and His words (John 14:23; 15:4). He lived in the life of people like Paul and worked through his ministry to bless others (Gal. 2:20). Those who imbibe of the life of Christ cannot help but transmit it to others in their thinking, teaching, and behavior. Neither Christ nor His consecrated followers ever taught people to engage in selfish, sinful, sensual behavior (see vs. 17-19). Don't be led astray by pagan thought or teaching that parades as "Christian." Remember, all truth is in Jesus. Those who are in Christ will teach as He taught and live as He lived. You came to know Christ through Christ living in them. Others can come to know Him through Christ living in you! Hymn: How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
