SENSITIVITY OR SENSUALITY?

"Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more" (Eph. 4:19 NIV).
If ever a verse was written for our times it is this one. We live in a world of unchecked and unfettered brutality and sensuality. Noah's times are being repeated right before our very eyes. "The wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Gen. 6:5 NKJV). The earth is filled with sensuality and violence.
We are not to live like the Gentiles do. They have lost all sensitivity - to shame, to a sense of right and wrong, to the needs and feelings of family and mankind. The NKJV says they are "past feeling." All they care about is feeding and satisfying their own lusts. When you lose your sensitivity (to sin, feelings of sorrow and repentance, to God) you are bound to give your soul to sensuality, impurity, and lust. I want to have a sensitive heart before God and before my fellow man. I want you to have the same.
Hymn: Jesus calls us from the worship of the vain world's golden store, From each idol that would keep us, saying, "Christian, love Me more." (Cecil F. Alexander)
