PROVE IT!

"...that you may prove what the will of God is..." (Romans 12:2).
"Prove it!" Every had those words shouted at you or have you shouted them at someone? Here Paul is telling us to "prove it!" - that is, to prove what the will of God is for our life by doing what he has been urging them to do. God's will for our lives is proved when we take Him at His word and do what He has asked us to do.
The practical application of righteousness is how we prove God's will for and in our lives. We've been advised by the apostle thus far to: (1) present our bodies to God as a living sacrifice, (2) to not conform to the world, and (3) to be spiritual transformed by thinking in a new and different way - "the renewing of our mind." This is God's 3-fold will for us - at least in this passage. So, it comes down to this: prove (to God, yourself, and others) what the will of God is. Could a course for our life be clearer? Each day say to yourself: "I will offer myself as a living sacrifice to God this day. I will not let the world squeeze me into its mold. I will transform my thinking to thoughts of God and goodness."
Hymn/Prayer: I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, and it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith, and be closer drawn to Thee" (Fanny J. Crosby).
