TRANSFORMATION!

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed..." (Romans 12:2 NKJV).
What a contrast! Don't be conformed but do be transformed! The New Testament in Modern English reads, "Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God remold your minds from within."
The Greek word for "transformed" is metamorphoo meaning "change, transfigure, transform." From it we get the English word "metamorphosis" meaning "a change of physical form, structure, or substance esp. by supernatural means." We see this when a beautiful butterfly emerges from a lowly cocoon. It is a miracle of God. So it is in the spiritual dimension. God is in the business of changing people, transforming them from something ugly to something beautiful. Saul of Tarsus was as ugly as you get - hating Christian, persecuting Christians, dragging them off to prison, hounding them from city to city, even participating in the stoning of Stephen. Then Christ wonderfully transformed him. Tomorrow we will see how that wonderful transformation takes place.
Praise: Something beautiful, something good; All my confusion He understood: All I had to offer him was brokenness and strife, But He made something beautiful of my life (Gloria Gaither).
