When was the last time you heard anything in church about the second coming of Jesus Christ? Or when was the last time you entertained a serious thought about Christ's return? We have just spent the month of December learning more about Jesus' first coming so it is only fitting that we close out the month (and the year!) by thinking about Christ's second coming to earth.

Just about everything you need to know about the second coming of Christ is contained in one verse, Matthew 24:44 NKJV. "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Three things jump out at me in this pertinent passage: (1) The Son of Man is coming. (2) We do not know the hour of His coming. (3) Therefore, it is imperative that we be ready to meet Him when He comes.

We also know that the days preceding His coming will parallel the days before the great flood of Noah's day. I will discuss seven "flood warnings" or spiritual signs that signal the return of Christ in my February Knowlesletter (subscribe, free, by writing
P. O. Box 275, Joplin, MO 64802). If the world put as much thought into the second coming of Christ as they do the first coming, more would be prepared WHEN HE COMES AGAIN!
