THE PRESENT MINISTRY OF JESUS CHRIST

"Christmas Day" is over but the daily ministry of Jesus Christ continues. He came to earth, was tempted in all points like we are, fulfilled His mission, taught the truth, performed magnificent miracles, manifested compassion, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose again the third day, showed Himself to many people after His resurrection, and ascended into Heaven. So, what is Jesus doing today? It may surprise you that He maintains a vigorous daily ministry on your behalf!

Today, Jesus is ruling from David's throne (Acts 2:29-36). It is a most triumphant reign (1 Cor 15:24-28; Heb 10:12-13). Every day He intercedes for us to the Father (Rom 8:34; Heb 7:25; 9:24). Just think about that one for awhile! He knows your needs, weaknesses, your susceptibility to sin. According to John 14:2 He is preparing a place for us. As the hymn says, "How beautiful heaven must be!" A 2,000-year work still in progress! As a priest forever, He is exercising a priestly ministry (Heb 4:14-16; 8:1-2). He is our Great High Priest. He is also the minister of the true sanctuary (Heb 8:1). And He is waiting until God makes all His enemies to be His footstool (Heb 10:13). I would not want to be an enemy of Christ, would you? So I think Jesus' ministry continues in Heaven as it did on earth in at least these eight ways I have cited.

Prayer: Father, we thank You for sending Jesus to be our Savior and just now we thank You for receiving Him back so He can be our Great Hight Priest and soon-coming King!
