CHRIST IS TO BE WORSHIPED

One of the convincing proofs that Jesus of Nazareth was/is God in the flesh is the fact that He accepted the worship of men and women. You would have to be a raving lunatic to accept the worship of mortals if you knew that you yourself were also a mere mortal. Not so with Jesus.

The Wise Men followed the star they had seen in the East until he hovered over a house in Bethlehem. "And when they come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him" (Matt 2:11). Christ was worshiped by His disciples (Matt 14:33), men (John 9:38), women (Matt 28:9), and angels (Heb 1:6). Never once did He tell them: "Stop it! I am only a man."

Some day every knee will bow in worship and every tongue will praise Him in worship (Phil 2:10,11) - even those who have refused to acknowledge His deity in their lifetime. Atheists, skeptics, mockers, Christ-deniers, Christ-haters - all will find themselves inexplicably sinking to their knees before Him. In Heaven there will be constant worship of Jesus (Rev 5:14; 7:9-10). Christ alone is worthy of your worship. Give it to Him today with all your heart! Worship Him for who He is; for what He has done, is doing, and will do in the future.

Hymn: Sages, leave your contemplations, Brighter visions beam afar; Seek the great Desire of nations, Ye have seen His natal star: Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King. (James Montgomery)
