"For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls" (Hebrews 12:3 NKJV).

Ever get to feeling sorry for yourself? Someone who is not a Christian says something unkind or untrue to you and you become all unglued? Well, here is God's remedy for getting weary in well-doing or becoming discouraged at criticism from those who are without His church. "Consider Him." Consider Jesus.

Our Lord endured more hostility from sinners than you and I will ever even think of. I mean, they marched Him to Calvary and had Him nailed to a Roman cross! The writer says in verse 4, "You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin." So, the next time an unbeliever cuts you to the heart with a remark or does something that is hurtful, "Consider Him." How did Jesus respond to hostility? He turned the other cheek. He remained silent. He committed Himself into the watch care of His Father. He prayed for those who were reviling Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to be more like Your Blessed Son when we become discouraged because of hostile treatment because we are striving to follow Him and His teachings.
