THE FAITH CHAPTER

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).
We must be a people who live by faith for without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11 is often called "The Faith Chapter." Sixteen people are mentioned by name. They all lived "by faith." In fact, the phrase "by faith" appears 18 times. All of the heroes mentioned in this chapter died "in faith" (v. 13). All of them obtained a good testimony "through faith" (v. 39).
So, what's our testimony going to be some day? Will it be said of us that we lived "by faith"? Let it NOT be said that we lived "by fear." Or "by our wits." Or by any other way than faith. "Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him" (Hebrews 10:38, citing Habakkuk 2:3,4). It brings God great pleasure to see His children living "by faith." Moment by moment, we can live by faith. Hour by hour, day by day, until it is our sacred practice to live like those who obtained a good testimony through their lives of committed faith to God. Let us emulate them.
Chorus: "Moment by moment I'm kept in His love; Moment by moment I've life from above; Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine; Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine." (D. W. Whittle).
