THINGS THAT ACCOMPANY SALVATION

"...We are confident of better things in your case - things that accompany salvation" (Hebrews 6:9 NIV).

The Christian Standard Bible (Holman) reads: "the better things connected with salvation." What are some of those things? We could do no better than go back to the book of Acts and discover some of these things in the early church. "Things that accompany salvation" include:

1. Spiritual growth (Acts 2:42)
2. Generosity (Acts 2:43)
3. Christian fellowship (Acts 2:46, 47)
4. Courageous witness (Acts 4:8-13)
5. Boldness in prayer (Acts 4:23-31)
6. Caring for the needy (Acts 4:32-37; 6:1-4)
7. Evangelism (Acts 6:7)
8. Persecution (Acts 7, 8:1-4)
9. Great joy (Acts 8:4-8, 39)
10 Conversion of enemies of the church (Acts 9)

I have a friend (Given O. Blakely) who has comprised a list, "100 Things that Accompany Salvation." If I can locate it, I will share more with you later.

Prayer: Father, we thank You for not only giving us salvation but also for giving us things that accompany the salvation we enjoy in and because of Your Son Jesus Christ.
