AN UNLIKELY PLACE OF GRACE

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV).
Here is an unlikely place of grace - a throne! Thrones are mentioned 185 times in your Bible (40 times in Revelation). A throne represents royalty, majesty, and law! This is the only time in your Bible that a throne is connected with grace. It all depends who sits on that throne that makes it a court of law or a place of grace.
Jesus sits on the Throne of Grace, not only as a King (He is indeed "King of kings") but also as a gracious and merciful High Priest (see v. 14). He is the Master of multi-tasking. And we are urged to approach Him "boldly" to obtain mercy and grace in our time of need. Do remember that the next time needs overwhelm you. You may approach Christ's Throne of Grace with holy boldness. John Newton said, "Thou art coming to a King, large petitions with thee bring, for His grace and power are such, thou canst never ask too much!" That's what it means to come "boldly" to this unlikely place of grace.
Prayer: Holy Father, we come to You right now through our Great High Priest, Jesus, Your Son, in our time of need. Please grant us mercy and grace we pray.
