EVEN GOD RESTED!

"For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work.'" (Hebrews 4:4 NIV).
I find it interesting that the writer - rather than giving the exact reference - just says, "For somewhere he has spoken..." That "somewhere" is probably Genesis 2:2, but the main thing the writer wanted us to remember was that even Almighty God, the Great Creator, took time to rest from His labors.
I am very tired today, even to the point of my hands trembling a little bit. I know that I am not wise enough to do what God did and that is rest after a period of work. I just got in last night from one meeting and am scurrying around today trying to get ready for another that starts tomorrow. I am a silly rat in the rat race of life. I need to slow down and remember: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." How about you?
Hymn/Prayer: "There is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God. A place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God. O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, hold us, who wait before Thee, near to the heart of God." (C. B. McAfee).
