"WE SEE JESUS"

"...we do not see everything...But we see Jesus..." (Hebrews 2:8,9 NIV).
No one can see everything in life but I trust all of us who desire to do so can see Jesus. I have seen Him in the faces of saints all over this world. I have seen Him in the faces of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and little children. I have not seen everything this world has to offer (nor do I wish to), but I have seen Jesus and that is sufficient.
Sometimes it is hard to see Jesus in what we have made into modern religion. Sometimes He is lost in the maze of "doing church." I have had a few unhappy occasions where I have gone to church and never heard His name mentioned or His Words - those "wonderful word of life" - read. It always concerns me that some churches omit the observance of the Lord's Supper on the Lord's Day. If Christ is not the very center of our worship, we cannot "see Jesus." Zacchaeus sought to see Jesus, but could not because of the crowd (Luke 19:3). Don't crowd out Jesus or force people to "climb a tree" to see Jesus!
Hymn/Prayer: "Here, O my Lord, I see Thee face to face, Here would I touch and handle things unseen; Here grasp with firmer hand eternal grace, And all my weariness upon Thee lean." (Horatius Bonar)
