THE GREAT SUSTAINER This entry was posted on 09-25-2007 and is filed under Devotional. "...sustaining all things by his powerful word" (Hebrews 1:3 NIV). God is the great Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. He created the world and all things in it. He redeemed fallen man through the blood of His Son. And He sustains the world He created and mankind whom He redeemed (Col. 1:17). He holds it/them all together so they don't fly apart. A sustainer also provides sustenance. Without sustenance we could not survive. That's why "abiding in Christ" is vital. Christ is the true vine who provides daily, spiritual, strengthening nutrients that come to us through fellowship with Him and His word (John 15:1-7). God's powerful word continues to sustain us today! Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for sustaining us by Your powerful word. How we need manna from on high - spiritual sustenance for our daily existence. Through Christ we pray. |
