WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE HIVITES?

"If you should say in your heart, 'These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?' - you shall not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt" (Deut. 7:17,18 NKJV).

God knew that Israel would be tempted to think negatively, i.e., "These nations are more powerful than us; how will we ever drive them out?" But where are the 7 nations that were greater in power and might today? Gone, gone, gone. God took them out. Only Israel remains on the map (except Arab drawn maps!).

So, what about the giants you face today? Don't say in your heart that they are greater than you or that you cannot dispossess them. Remember that your great ally is God. And His Son Jesus Christ. And the blessed Holy Spirit. I like to remember 1 John 4:4 in times of trial. "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, guard our hearts from thinking defeatist thoughts. May we rest in You divine power, knowing that You are greater than any of the problems or enemies we may face today. Through Christ we pray.
