THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD

"...the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand" (Deut. 7:8c NKJV).
"Mighty" is a mighty good word in Scripture. It appears some 286 times in the translation I am using today (NKJV). Our God is an awesome God! God brought Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand. This phrase appears more in Deuteronomy than any other book in the Old Testament (see 4:34; 5:15; 6:21; 7:8; 7:19; 9:26; 11:2; 26:8). The New Testament emphasis, however, is on "the right hand of God." That is because Jesus ascended to Heaven and is now at the right hand of God. The Living Christ is our mighty hand today.
Do you feel the hand of God upon your life today? His power and presence are real. The same God that brought Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand can bring you out of whatever state you find yourself in today. The right hand of God can make your life right. When John was on Patmos he saw the Living One and fell at his feet as though dead. "Then he placed his right hand on me and said: 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One..." (Rev. 1:17,18). Thank God for the mighty right hand of God!
Hymn: "Time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand" (Jennie Wilson).
