THE GREATEST PEACE IN ALL THE WORLD

"Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble" (Psalm 119:165 NKJV). The Hebrew letter SHIN forms this unique acrostic stanza.
The "peace movement" of the 1960s had it all wrong. The peace they offered and the peace they preached was all man-centered, drug-centered, and earth-centered. "Peace, Dude!" Today, some 40 years later, people are still seeking for peace in all the wrong places. The center of peace is in Truth. God's written Word is truth. God's living logos, Jesus Christ, is truth.
Wherever there is sin, there is the opposite of peace: turmoil, strife, unease. I like Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You." Fix your mind on God and His Word and you will have great peace, you will be kept in perfect peace, and nothing will cause you to stumble. Do you see now why it is so important to build your life on truth and to build truth into your life? Thank God for great peace, perfect peace, peace that passes understanding!
Hymn: "What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace, buried deep in the heart of my soul; so secure that no power can mine it away, while the years of eternity roll. Peace! Peace! wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above; sweep over my spirit forever I pray, in fathomless billows of love" (W. D. Cornell)
