FOUNDATION STONES

"Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever" (Psalm 119:152 NKJV). This stanza uses the Hebrew letter QOPH to establish the acrostic.
Pulpit Commentary says, "The study of God's commandments has long ago convinced the psalmist that they are no passing or temporary enactments, but eternal laws, decreed and laid down forever." Every passage in the Bible is an eternal foundation stone for the nation, the church, the home, and every person's life. The NIV says, "You established them to last forever."
The words contained in a daily newspaper, weekly news magazine, or even a best-selling novel like the Harry Potter series will not last forever. The books I write, sermons I prepare, or even a Bible blog like this will not last forever. Only the Word of God is eternal. Build your life on these sure and true foundation stones and you will never fall. What God said 5,000 years ago will still be true if the world lasts a million years. But if the world ends tomorrow, how happy you will be that you took your stand on the Word of God!
Chorus: "The B-i-b-l-e, yes, that's the Book for me; I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-i-b-l-e."
