THE GOD-DIRECTED LIFE

"Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me" (Psalm 119:133 NKJV). The Hebrew letter PE is used to start each of the eight verses in this stanza.
Who directs your life? Your boss, your spouse, your parent, yourself? What directs your life? Your job, your ambition, someone who "enables" or controls you? Is the person or thing that directs your life a dictator as well as a director?
Here we find the secret to a successful Christian life. When the Creator directs our life according to His Divine Word, no sin will direct, dictate, or have dominion over our lives. Jeremiah said, "O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps" (Jer. 10:23). Make this commitment today: "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way" (Psa. 37:23).
Hymn: "How precious is the Book divine, by inspiration given! Bright as a lamp its precepts shine, to guide my soul to heaven. Holy Bible, Book divine! Precious treasure, thou art mine. Lamp to my feet and a light to my way to guide me safely home" (John Fawcett)
