ASKING GOD TO ACT!

"It is time for You to act, O LORD, For they have regarded Your law as void" (Psalm 119:126 NKJV). This eight-line stanza is based on the Hebrew letter AYIN.
This may sound highminded at first, but the writer felt so strongly that those who disregarded God's Word needed divine discipline that he actually asked God to spring into action! Pulpit Commentary says, "i.e., to lay aside quiescence [being at rest; inactive - V.K.] and come forward as the active Ruler of the universe."
For 15 years I have prayed this prayer concerning a particular enemy of God, but God has not chosen (to my limited knowledge) to answer this prayer. I hope that some day He will, but God is the One who will determine that in His own good timing and according to His good pleasure. I'm sure I have joined millions of others in prayers like this concerning callous souls who disregard the teachings of God and make life miserable for those who are trying to do right.
Hymn: "And though this world, with evil filled, should threaten to undo us; We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us. Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also; the body they may kill: God's truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever." (Martin Luther)
