"This Is Love"

"This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it"
(2 John 6 NKJV).
The book "Love Story" defined love as "never having to say you're sorry." But here is a biblical definition of love. It certainly goes against the grain of Hollywood - and human nature itself for that matter. Living according to God's commandments is love. Most people don't want to do that. In fact, they recoil at the very idea. Who is God to tell me what to do and how to live? Rebellion is as old as Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Even a dog who loves his master will do its best to obey him. Surely our love for our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer should motivate us to live a life that is pleasing to Him. This is nothing new. It is as old as the Great Commandment itself (Deut. 6:5). Love is not doing your own thing or pleasing yourself. Love is walking according to His commandments. Those who do so have found great satisfaction in life. Those who go their own way will have the devil to pay.
Prayer: "Father, we adore You, lay our lives before You, how we love you." (Adapted)
