The Best Teacher I Ever Had

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age..." (Titus 2:11,12 NKJV).
Two thousand years ago the grace of God visited planet earth in the person and work of Jesus Christ. He was full of grace and truth and His very name meant salvation. The next time He appears it will be to receive to Himself His own, judge the world, and usher in Eternity.
I had many great teachers in school but the best teacher I ever had was Grace. What did Grace teach me? That I should deny things that were ungodly. That I should deny worldly desires. That I should live the three-fold life of soberness, righteousness, and godliness. Is this what you are learning in the School of Grace where you are enrolled in this present age? Some pervert the doctrine of grace and use it as a license for sin, but true grace - "the grace of God that brings salvation" - teaches us to live otherwise.
Prayer: Righteous Father, thank You for sending grace to teach us how to live in preparation for the next age! Through Christ we pray.
