Swift Runner

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you" (1 Thess. 1:1 NKJV).
I used to be a "swift runner." That was when I was in Junior High and Senior High. In the outfield I could track down a fly ball hit into the gap. On the track I could run with the best of them in the short run - 50, 100, and 220 yards. I once was clocked in a 10.4 (wind-aided) 100 yard dash. But those days are long gone for me!
But the Word of God is still a "swift runner." Every time I open up the Bible it runs right to my heart. Every time I preach the Word it goes directly to the hearts of the hearers. Evey time I write a book, article, editorial, or even this Daily Bible Study on the Internet, God's Word is a "swift runner." May it always be glorified in the lives of those who receive it!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your swift running Word. How it blesses our lives. How it blesses the lives of those to whom we send it in whatever form. May we always glorify it by our ready reception and loving obedience. Through Christ we pray.
