I Am Persuaded

"For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day" (2 Tim. 1:12 NKJV).
Paul was not ashamed that he had been imprisoned for the Lord. Perhaps others were but he was not. Why? Because he had a rock-solid faith in Christ. He knew Christ. He was persuaded that Christ would keep what he had committed to Him.
This verse makes me examine my own faith. Have I suffered for Christ? Am I sometimes ashamed of Him? Do I really know Christ? Have I demonstrated my faith in Him in some tangible way this day? Am I fully persuaded that He can both save and keep? What have I committed into His keeping and what am I holding back? Perhaps these questions are good for you to ponder as well.
Song: "I know not when my Lord may come, at night or noon-day fair, Nor if I'll walk the vale with Him, or 'meet Him in the air.' But 'I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that Day'" (D. W. Whittle).
