All Things New

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself in Christ..." (2 Cor. 5:17,18a NIV).
Talk about a radical makeover! No one does it like God through His Son Jesus Christ. Millions of people have become "new creations" in Jesus Christ. Sound the roll call: murderers, millionaires, prostitutes, politicians, drunkards, dope addicts, slanderers, thieves, liars, haters, sinners of every stripe. Saul the persecutor became Paul the propagator (of the gospel).
No matter what you were, if you are "in Christ" you are a "new creation." The past is gone. The present is ripe with opportunity. The future is as bright as the promises of God. Repentance is the gateway to salvation. On the Day of Pentecost Peter declared, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgivness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). When a penitent is "baptized into Christ" (Gal. 3:27), he or she will put on Christ. The old is gone, the new is come! Praise God for the One who makes "all things new."
Praise: "Jesus my Lord will love me forever, from Him no power of evil can sever, He gave His life to ransom my soul, now I belong to Him; Now I belong to Jesus, Jesus belongs to me, not for the years of time alone, but for eternity" (Norman J. Clayton)
