What's a Good Jewish Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This?

"And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!" (Esther 4:16 NKJV).
Esther was in a quandary. Her uncle, Mordecai, had uncovered a heinous plot to liquidate all the Jews in Persia (modern Iran). Because of her unique position in the court, Mordecai urged her to address the king. Esther knew the risk involved. Jews could not petition the king. Unless by some miracle he extended the royal scepter. Which is exactly what happened and the impending disaster was averted.
There is no law against us going to the King. Of course I am referring the Almighty God who sits on His throne. It is a throne of grace, not law. At Sinai the word was, "Back off, Jack." Under grace the message is, "Draw near, all." Someone put it this way. You are coming to a King. Large petitions with thee bring. For His grace and power are such, you can never ask too much." If you approach the King today, you will not perish. What request(s) do you have for Him?
Prayer: Holy Father, we approach Your throne of grace with humility and gratitude. Thank You for extending to us the royal scepter in the person of Your Son Jesus the Christ. Hear our requests this day and answer them in Your good timing and perfect will. Through Christ we pray.
