Ultimate Faith

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:14 NKJV).
Here are nine of the most amazing words in all of the Bible! Martin Luther said the book of Job was "more magnificent and sublime than any other book of Scripture." I believe that it has an enduring message. Faith can endure what it cannot escape. Perhaps no man on earth had more trials and tribulations than the patriarch Job. And you think you have had a rough day? Read just the first three chapters and weep.
I once heard a story about an old Jew in Berlin. They found his body in the ruins of a house that had been bombed in Berlin. On the wall he had scrawled in chalk: "I believe in God even when the sun no longer shines." This is the faith of Job. "Though God slays me, yet will I trust Him." This is faith. This is ultimate faith. This is faith that comes from deep within. No wonder he later cried, "I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth" (19:25).
Praise: I know that my Redeemer lives, and ever prays for me; I know eternal life He gives, from sin and sorrow free. I know, I know that my Redeemer lives, I know, I know eternal life He gives; I know, I know, that my Redeemer lives. (Fred A. Fillmore)
