On Eagles' Wings

"You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagle's wings and brought you unto Myself" (Exodus 19:4 NKJV).
This is my favorite verse in Exodus. We need to remember how Israel made her "exodus" from Egypt. It was by the delivering power of Almighty God. Here he tells Moses to remind the people that they had been eyewitnesses to what God did to the Egyptians (the 10 plagues). He carried them as a parent eagle on His wings to safety. He drew them unto Himself. It was all of God.
When you feel trapped or surrounded or beleaguered, remember this verse. Remember how God has delivered you in the past - how He has carried you on eagles' wings before - how He wants to draw you unto Himself. When my uncle Troy Knowles entered a nursing home several years ago I was moved to write a piece in his honor, "On Eagles' Wings." You may download it by going to www.poeministries.org and clicking on "On Eagles' Wings."
Song of Praise: I've found a Friend, oh, such a Friend! He loved me ere I knew Him; He drew me with the cords of love, and thus He bound me to Him. And 'round my heart still closely twine those ties which naught can sever. for I am His, and He is mine, forever and forever. (James G. Small)
