Passport to Paradise

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20 NKJV).
Today I went to the post office to pick up a passport form for my granddaughter Brooke who is planning on going on a mission trip to South America this summer, the Lord willing. Today you even need a passport to cross the border into Canada. Even though our passports declare that we are citizens of the United States, we are first and foremost citizens of Heaven.
The lady behind the desk told me that Brooke must bring her birth certificate. We have to have a "birth certificate" for our "Passport to Paradise" as well. Jesus said, "Unless one is born of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). Are your papers in order? Do you have your spiritual "birth certificate"? Got your "Passport to Paradise"? Good. When Jesus comes again you will be ready to travel!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making us citizens of Heaven through the blood of Your Son Jesus, in Whose Name we pray, Amen.
