The Kind of Glory God Endorses

"But 'he who glories, let him glory in the LORD.' For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends" (2 Corinthians 10:17,18 NKJV).
Here is the kind of glory that God endorses. To glory in oneself - his or her outward appearance, possessions, or accomplishments is vain glory. Self-commendation can lead to self-condemnation. Remember Herod? He gave a great oration, the people gave a great ovation, and God put him on permanent probation. Why. "Because he did not give glory to God" (Acts 12:23).
If the Lord commends you for your service, that is really all you need. Others may not notice, but He always does. What we say and do today is really for His glory, not ours. Selflessly seek some way to bring Him glory today so that you may receive the kind of glory that God endorses!
Ancient hymn Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
