"But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV).
Christianity is not complex. It is thinking, feeling, acting, and living like Christ. Jesus was a simple man. Do not take that to mean I am demeaning His divinity for I am not. I am simply saying that He lived a simple lifestyle and taught in terms so simple that even "the common people heard him gladly."
Wouldn't you like to simplify your lifestyle? You can. Christ was not fettered with things. He told Martha not to be worried about mundane matters. Jesus was a minimalist. He got by with just the things He really needed. I want to be a minimalist too. Christianity has had so many "add-ons" affixed to it that sometimes it is difficult to recognize "the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ" (NAS
in its adherents. A simple Christian lifestyle is what we all need.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, "fix in us Thy humble dwelling, enter every trembling heart." Through Christ we pray.
