No Book But The Bible

"But the word of the LORD endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you" (1 Peter 1:25 NKJV).
In contrast with the grass that withers and flowers that fade, the word of God endures forever. It is the word which we have heard preached by faithful gospel preachers who cried, "No book but the Bible!" The Bible is sufficient. In it God has granted to us "all things that pertain to live and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3). Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).
Creeds, confessions, and catechisms are superfluous. All we need is the Bible, but we need all of the Bible. All Scripture is inspired of God and is profitable (2 Timothy 3:16). John R. W. Stott said, "What we claim for the Bible is that it unfolds God's total plan." God has a plan for your life. It is a total plan. And it is contained in the Bible, the only book we really need for life here and to prepare us for in the hereafter. All other books were given for information but the Bible was given to us for our transformation.
Praise: How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled? (Rippon's Selection of Hymns).
