Making Egypt Glad

"Egypt was glad when they departed, for the fear of them had fallen upon them" (Psalm 105:38 NKJV).
Here is an interesting tidbit. When the Israelites packed their bags and started the Exodus from Egypt, the entire nation of Egypt gave a big sigh of relief! They were glad when the people of God left their midst. Ten terrible plagues had thundered across their land, leaving havoc in their wake.
There was "joy in the camp" of the Israelites when they left too. "He brought out His people with joy" (v. 43). Israel was glad to get out of Egypt. But Egypt was glad that Israel was getting out of their nation. I wonder when a sinner is converted and leaves the ranks of sinners if they are not glad that their former friend has departed their company. Most sinners don't like saints in their company. When was the last time you made Egypt glad?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us out of Egypt with joy. May we never want to go back to Egypt. Through Christ we pray.
