To Build a Fire

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (Revelation 3:15 NIV).
We had an ice storm here two weeks ago and I am still chipping away at ice frozen to the sidewalk! Unless the sun comes out to help me, it is a hard task. Not so with the windshield of my car. Once I can get in and turn on the heater/defroster, it makes removing the ice on the windshield so much easier and faster.
The late revivalist Archie Word once told an illustration of a man trying to scrape the frost of his windows with a razor blade. As soon as he got some cleared off it froze over again. Word declared there was just one remedy – build a fire in the house and the heat on the inside will not only loosen the frost but get rid of it as well. "Christ on the inside will drive the devil out." Friends, what we need today are dedicated believers who will build a fire on the inside so that the warmth of God's love can get rid of all the frost and ice and drive the devil out of our churches! Of the two choices, hot or cold, which do you think Jesus wanted the Laodiceans to be? What does He want you to be? Right. Then build a fire!
