Our Eternal Home

"For man goes to his eternal home" (Ecclesiastes 12:5 NKJV).
If you are a believer in Christ today, this Scripture fragment should encourage you. When a Christian dies he "goes to his eternal home." We do go somewhere then and I don't just mean a ride to the cemetery.
When our "earthly tent" in which we live is destroyed, we have a house from God, "an eternal house in heaven" (2 Cor. 5:1). Nothing can destroy this God-given house, this eternal heavenly home. It will be our "home, sweet home" forever and ever. No home you have ever built or lived in here can compare with your eternal home, your eternal house in heaven. Take time today to think about your eternal home!
Prayer: Gracious Lord, how kind You are to build for us an eternal home in heaven! What did we ever do to deserve such goodness and mercy? May we live in gratitude and anticipation from this day forward. Through Christ we pray.
