How Far is East from West?

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12 NKJV).

The distance between north and south can be measured because there are fixed points - the north and south poles. But there are no poles for east and west. East extends to one direction and west to another. It is said that the westward traveler may be ever chasing the west without coming nearer to it.

God's forgiveness is limitless. When we repent of our sins, and forsake them, He removes our transgressions "as far as the east is from the west." Isaiah 38:17 says He casts them behind His back. God does not look back on our sins He has forgiven and neither should we. Micah 7:19 says God casts all our sins into the depths of the sea. So don't don your spiritual deep-sea diving gear and go looking for them! Like the remains of the Titanic, they are forever on the ocean floor of God's amazing forgiveness and forgetfulness.

Prayer: Deal Lord, You are so gracious with us! Accept our thanks from grateful hearts today for removing our sins "as far as the east is from the west." Through Christ, our Great Redeemer, we pray.

Whoa! What a great application Vic. The East and the West, no boundries, I had never looked at it that way before.
