The Omega File
This entry was posted on 12-31-2006 and is filed under Devotional.
"I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last" (Revelation 22:13 NKJV).
The omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. And in our text today, Jesus Christ declares that He is the Omega. He is the End of 2006, just as He was the Beginning. He is the Last (day, hour, minute, second) of 2006, just as He was the First. All of life begins and ends with Jesus Christ. He was there "in the beginning" and He will be there when Gabriel blows his trumpet to end time and begin eternity.
All of life, then, is contained in what I call "The Omega File." Almost sounds like a movie, doesn't it? Well, your life has been, and is, kind of like a movie. Or should we say a documentary film? And if Jesus Christ has not been at the beginning and end of that movie, it will bomb! But if He has truly been the beginning and end of your life, it will rank four stars and be a blockbuster. Because your life, from start to finish, must be governed by Christ – the Author and Finisher of our faith! The Omega File 2006 is about to close – but The Alpha File 2007 is about to be opened! Thank You, Lord!
Prayer: Dear God, for every failure in 2006, forgive. For every triumph, all praise to You. We thank You for the Alpha and Omega of our lives, Your Son Jesus the Christ. Create within us a Holy Desire to make 2007 the greatest year of service we have ever rendered to You in Jesus' name!
