"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you" (Romans 8:11 NKJV).

This has to be one of the most exciting and empowering verses in all of Scripture. Do you realize that the SAME Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you? Do you? Some folks don't. In fact, I understand there are some folks (and I am talking church folks) who do not believe in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit! Perhaps that explains the absence of love, joy and peace in their splintered churches (see Gal. 5:22).

Get a grip on the power in this passage! If the same Spirit, who penetrated the rock-cold tomb on Easter morning and raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in you (and Paul affirms this indwelling of the Spirit TWICE in the same verse!), then He - the Spirit - can certainly penetrate your miserable estate and raise you from your doldrums, from your drudgery, from your despair, from your discouragement, from your depression, from your disillusionment! Thank God today for the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead - Who also "dwells in you!"

Prayer: Great God of Heaven we thank You today for sharing with us the Third Person of the Godhead, the blessed Holy Spirit. May we never quench His fire or quell His work or question His desire to make us what we ought to be. Through Christ, Whom You raised by Your Spirit, we pray.
