The Secret Place

"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:6 NKJV).
Where do you dwell? No, I don't mean what city do you live in or what street you live on or what house you dwell in. I mean where is your dwelling place? If you are a believer in God then you have a "secret place" - a place where God casts His loving shadow of care upon you. It might be where you read His Word each day. I once heard of a woman who set up an old easy chair in the basement where she sat and read her Bible as the washing machine chugged away.
The secret place should be a place where there are few interruptions. I know that is hard for some of you, but I trust your ingenuity and creativity. I am blessed to have my office in a quiet wooded area. Some of you live in the heart of a noisy city. But I believe we can all — if we try hard enough — create a secret place where we can sense God's loving care as we read His Word and talk to Him.
Song: There is a quiet place, far from the rapid pace, where God can soothe my troubled mind/Sheltered by tree and flower, there in my quiet hour with Him my cares are left behind/Whether a garden small or on a mountain tall, new strength and courage there I find; then from this quiet place I go prepared to face a new day with love for all mankind.
