Rejoicing in Hope

"and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1 NKJV).
This verse has given us so much we are loathe to leave it. But one final look at Romans 5:1, one of the richest verses in Romans, if not the entire Bible, still has much to offer.
What causes people to rejoice? Some people actually rejoice when another person or party stumbles and falls. We are to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. But here we are reminded that the source of our rejoicing is the hope we have of the glory of God. As believers, we have hope - hope of the resurrection, hope of eternal life, hope of seeing the Shekinah glory of God some day. So what if some of your earthly hopes are dashed or never come true. You can rejoice today because of the hope you have in God through Christ our Lord.
