Stop Hurting Jesus!

"I heard a voice speaking to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" (Acts 26:14 NKJV)
When Christ appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus, three amazing things took place. (1) He spoke to him in Hebrew (Jesus normally spoke Aramaic). He wanted to be sure Saul heard Him. (2) He called his name twice. Again, an attention-getting device. (3) He equated persecuting Christians with persecuting Himself.
Those who wound the body of Christ (the church, believers) are actually wounding the body of Christ Himself (because the church is His body, see Col. 1:18). I am sure that most persecutors of Christians around the world do not realize this at the time they are beating or torturing Christians, but it is true nonetheless. It is also true that when we speak against or take some uncharitable action against a fellow believer we are hurting Jesus by our words or actions. All such professed Christians should stop hurting Jesus!
Prayer: Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are sorry when our words or deeds harm Your Only Begotten Son! Impress upon our minds and consciences this day that when we speak or act against Christians we are actually hurting Jesus! In His name we pray.
