Too "Noble" to Work?

"Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles did not put their shoulders to the work of their Lord" (Nehemiah 3:5 NKJV).
Everybody was working together to repair the walls and gates of Jerusalem. Everybody, that is, except the nobles of Tekoa. I guess they felt that working shoulder to shoulder with "commoners" was an ignoble thing. So they didn't put their shoulders into the work of the Lord.
You can't be a worker for the Lord if you are a shirker from His work. Jesus Christ fixed the disciples breakfast, washed their feet, shouldered the cross and carried it to Calvary. Don't ever feel that you are too "noble" to get involved in muscle work for the cause of the Kingdom. To do so would be, well, ignoble!
Song: I want to be a worker for the Lord; I want to love and trust His holy word/I want to sing and pray, and be busy every day, in the vineyard of the Lord/I will work, I will pray, in the vineyard, in the vineyard of the Lord/I will work, I will pray, I will labor every day, in the vineyard of the Lord.
